HERO

Brave, self sacrificing for other people’s benefits especially the oppressed ones, fighting against injustice. That is the general description of a hero. The description usually closes related to a distinguished person with extraordinary deed.
In real life there are many people around us who actually do not fit the description of hero mentioned before but they deserve to be considered as hero. These people are often not famous. Most of them do what they think, and so do few people, ordinary things. But how they do it make them distinguished.
Volunteers who teach street poor children at slums is an example. With insufficient facilities and no honorarium they teach sincerely so that the children might get better future. Those volunteers are deserved well of their students. They are real hero without honors.
Most people probably never wonder to find hero figure on a garbage man (pemulung). Scavenging, sorting and reselling few kinds of garbage at garbage dump is the way they make living that most people will not choose. But their job helps reducing garbage that cause environmental problems such as water float and helps keeping our environment preservation. They deserve to be considered as environment savior heroes.
Sometimes a person can be considered as a hero without do something directly for benefit of others.
That is what happened to a survivor of the earthquake in West Sumatra. A building where he has been working collapsed by the earthquake and the ruins fell on one of his legs. With helping of a friend he cut the leg so that they can get out of the ruined building. His courage to survive and optimism to continue his life with one left leg inspires people to be more respecting life and fill it with useful things. He can be an inspiring hero for hopeless people.
And there are many more examples around us show that anyone can be a hero. Even a most ordinary person who does most ordinary thing can be a hero for anyone, at least for his/her closest people. How a person do something that express his/her noble quality makes him/her deserves to be considered as hero.
Because a hero is simply often an ordinary person in an extraordinary circumstances.
